PROJECT MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE (PMI®)
project menagement

Project Management Professional (PMP®) is a professional credential for project management specialists, based on a rigorous examination and meeting the highest standards in the project management profession. The PMP® Program supports the international community of Project Management Professionals and is designed to objectively assess and measure professional knowledge. The certificate is recognized by the majority of large companies and government institutions all over the world. More and more organizations explicitly require all members of project teams to be certified as PMP®.

The Project Management Institute sponsors a project management certification program. PMI® is an independent non-profit association founded in 1969 in Philadelphia, which associates thousands of project management professionals all over the world (it has more than 250,000 members). PMI® is a world leader in setting project management standards and endorses the methodology based on the experience of its members. The methodology is documented in "Project Management Body of Knowledge" (PMBOK® Guide), a book which constitutes an industry standard recognized all over the world.

MT&DC constantly broadens its portfolio of trainings in the area of Project management in order to be able to prepare the attendees to the PMP® examination at the highest level.  Besides the training related to specific areas of knowledge in the field of Project Management described in the  PMBOK® Guide we also offer the workshop "PMP® Exam Preparation Course", during which the participants get familiar with techniques and methods of passing the exam successfully.

MT&DC was the first Polish training company that has been granted Project Management Institutes (PMI®) permission to administer Project Management Professional examination. The first PMP® examination ("paper & pencil") in Poland took place on 7 December in Falenty. Currently in Poland the PMP® exam is available in the on-line version. You may take the examination in the Centrum Egzaminacyjne  Promeric (Promeric Exam Center) in Warsaw, by PJWSTK, on 84/86, Nowogrodzka Street, 3 rd floor, room 306.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the PMP® certification examination cost?

The cost of PMP certification examination is:*

1. FOR PMI MEMBERS: 405 USD

2. FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT PMI MEMBERS: 555 USD

*The new prices result from our long-term cooperation with Project Management Institute.

Does PMI® require enclosing other documents such as CV, copy of diploma etc.?
Such requirement hasn't been valid since 4 March 2002 - it is only needed to enclose application forms to be found in the Certification Handbook.

How do I apply for PMP® examination?
People willing to take PMP® examination are requested to manually complete and send their application forms to the Project Management Institute, within 70 days prior to the planned examination date. As soon as the PMI® receive an application, they undertake a comprehensive verification procedure, which takes 3 weeks at the maximum. Incorrect of incomplete applications are returned to candidates. As an attempt to support candidates in completing application forms, MT&DC have appointed a PMP® Certification Coordinator, Krzysztof Śmigiel, who answers all questions on PMP® certification and forwards applications to PMI on behalf of candidates. The final step in the process is sending eligibility letters to all candidates whose applications have been accepted by PMI®.

Do I have to take the exam as soon as I receive my eligibility letter?
NO. When you get your eligibility letter, you have 6 months to take PMP® examination. Under special circumstances, a candidate may prolong this period by another 6 months, sending a written request to PMI®. This is free of charge; however, such request may be accepted only once. I f you wish to extend the period further, you will have to make additional payments.

How do I prepare for the exam?
Our suggestion for all candidates is the same: you should start with getting to know PMI methodology, which is contained in PMBOK® (A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge) - the publication called by some people the project managers' "bible". However, a more enjoyable way of getting familiar with the methodology is through our training courses based on PMBOK®. The core of preparation activities is a special PMP® prep course, where participants study the exam format and structure and take tests with questions similar to those they may face during the actual exam.
Moreover, we offer two books focusing solely on the examination, i.e. PMP® Challenge and PMP® Exam: Practice Test & Study Guide. Obviously, the above mentioned publications only complete self-study that is a necessary part of preparing for PMP® examination.
