For the third time already, children from different orphanages all over Poland took part in the English Summer Academy organized by MT&DC and Amplico Life. The intention of English Summer Academy organizers is not only to offer attractive holidays to the children, but also to encourage them to learn English.

In two 2-week periods, 60 children (coming from orphanages in Łódź, Białowieża, Supraśl, Krasne, and Warsaw) were able to rest and learn in the Energetyk Recreation-Training Center in Jachranka. During English lessons the kids studied the basics of this popular language; they also found out about methods for effective learning.

Apart from language workshops, the facility offered various pastimes to the pupils (such as a campfire, swimming pool, dance classes, meeting with GOPR Group) and trips to Warsaw over weekends (visiting TVP facilities, playing in HULA KULA Entertainment Center, going to the 3D movie theater IMAX to see Cyber World, having ice-cream at McDonalds and, first and foremost, the memorable meeting with the popular Polish boxer Przemysław Saleta).

Another diversion that the children enjoyed very much was a trip to Wilczeniec, where they visited horse stables, had a ride in a chaise, and grilled sausages in a campfire.

On the last day there was a celebration: we handed out the English Summer Academy diplomas and the children staged a show, presenting their language and dancing skills. To top the celebration, the most assiduous campers received amazing prizes (such as bicycles, skateboards, cameras, and Longmans dictionaries) plus group photographs as a souvenir.

We also got our reward: greeting cards made for us by the pupils. However, the most gratifying experience was to see their radiant faces.
